YEAR OF THE PANTHER...Steve Summers and the Twin Valley South Panthers had a memorable year as CCC Champions.

As it has been traditionally, the Cross County Conference championship came down to the final week of the season. When the dust settled, the Twin Valley South Panthers claimed the prize with a 11-1 conference record (17-3 overall) and deservingly were rewarded with post-season honors.

Panther sharp-shooter Steve Summers was recognized as the "Player of the Year" in the CCC, while long-time coach Tony Augspurger was chosen as "Coach of the Year". Joining Summers on the All-Conference team for the Panthers was Clint Spitler.

Five other teams had two players each earn All-Conference honors; Ansonia, Arcanum, Franklin Monroe, Miami East and Tri-Village. Not surprisingly, those five teams were among the leaders in the conference standings with Franklin Monroe at 10-2, Arcanum, Miami East and Tri-Village at 9-3, while Ansonia was sixth at 7-5 in league play.

Congratulations to all the teams and individuals for your accomplishments in the 2007-08 basketball season and good luck in the state tournament.
