YEAR OF THE VIKING..."Player of the Year" Katie Mengos and the Miami East Vikings were dominating throughout the regular season.

When a team rolls through the regular season with a 19-1 record and 12-0 in the conference, it's not surprising to see that team receive the most recognition when it comes to post-season honors.

The Lady Vikings of Miami East had three members named to the All-Conference Team, while Katie Mengos earned "Player of the Year" and coach Chad Weidner was chosen as "Coach of the Year" - all much deserved honors. Joining Mengos on the All-Conference Team were Katie Denlinger and Ashley Rice.

Only two other teams in the CCC had more than one selection as league runner-up Franklin Monroe saw Mara Howell and Sierra Bruner receive high honors and Tri-Village placed Tina Allison and Jordyn Fisherback on the All-Conference Team. Franklin Monroe finished at 14-6 overall and 10-2 in the CCC, while Tri-Village finished third in the CCC with a 9-3 conference record and a 15-5 record overall.

Congratulations to all the teams and individuals for your accomplishments in the 2007-08 basketball season and good luck in the state tournament.
