STILL GOT A BITE...Ansonia is still potent as it kept is playoff hopes alive with a win over Tri-County North.
COVERAGE BY TIM KLONTZ
It's been an up-and-down season for the Ansonia Tigers and hopefully for them they are on the upswing once again.
That's because their playoff hopes are still alive as they sit at 5-3 with two huge games left in the regular season.
Wins in those two games would come with a ton of computer points as those opponents are Miami East and Twin Valley South, both at 6-2 after week eight.
The Tigers received a solid effort from their backfield as two players surpasses the 100-yard mark in the contest.
Eric Beisner tallied 158 yards, while Dylan Bubeck went for 117 yards. Beisner also scored four touchdowns on the night, three running and one receiving. He also threw for 69 yards on a halfback pass to Ryan Benge in the third quarter.
The Ansonia defense also came up big, harassing quarterback DJ DeHart into throwing three interceptions and holding the Panthers to just one offensive touchdown.
Tri-County North did get a late touchdown via fumble recovery, however.
