A BRIGHT FUTURE...for the Bradford Railroaders and the Arcanum Trojans after an exciting 2007 season and Jr. High Championship Game.
Jr. High sports provides fans a look into the future. For Arcanum and Bradford, the future looks bright in football.
That's because these two teams entered the Jr. High Championship game unbeaten at 6-0. They then settled things on the field in a hard-hitting, exciting contest in Bradford.
When the dust settled, it was the Arcanum Trojans who walked off the field with their helmets hoisted in the air after and impressive 21-6 victory over the host Railroaders.
After a scoreless first quarter Arcanum did what no team has done against Bradford throughout the 2007 campaign - score a point. As a matter of fact, the Trojans put three touchdowns on the board in the quarter to take a 21-0 lead at the half.
It was all Arcanum would need as the Trojan defense held Bradford in check throughout the second half. Bradford's only score came late in the fourth quarter to make the final score 21-6.
Regardless of the outcome, both teams and communities can be proud of the seasons these youngsters had. Hopefully it will lead to bigger and better things for them as they advance to the next level of football.
