CCC PERFORMERS HEADED TO STATE

BACK TO STATE...is where Twin Valley South's Joe Molesky is headed after placing in Columbus a year ago.

Several Cross County Conference athletes will be making the trip to Columbus for the state track meet due to their efforts in the regional meet in Dayton this week.

The Ansonia girls will participate in four events at state with the 4x400 Meter Relay team of Jennifer Stone, Renee Schmitmeyer, Courtney Swabb and Brittany Miller going in as Regional Champions. The Lady Tigers will also participate in the 4x800 Meter Relay (3rd in Regional), the High Jump (Ariel Edwards 3rd in Regional), and the 400 Meter Dash (Jennifer Stone 4th in Regional).

Two Twin Valley South performers will compete in a combined four events as Joe Molesky returns to state in the 100 and 200 meter dashes as a Regional Runner-up in both events. John Stone won the shot put with a throw of 52-11.50 and finished second in the discuss (149-03) to earn a trip to state.

Bethel's Ashley Swackhamer will compete in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles after finishing runner-up in both events over the weekend. She will be joined by Chad McCarty, who finished fourth in the 1600 Meter Run at Regionals.

Katie Mengos of Miami East will see action at state in both the 400 Meter Dash (3rd at Regional) and the Long Jump (4th).

Arcanum sends two competitors to state with Josh Burns earning a second place finish in the shot put (52-10.75) and Zak Kite capturing third in the 400 (48.46).

The final conference competitor to earn a trip to state was Covington's Renee Otte. The state placer as a freshman returned from a torn ACL as a sophomore to take third at Regionals with a leap of 17-00.25.
