DOMINATING...is what Sierra Bruner (above) and the Franklin Monroe Lady Jets were in a 73-36 victory over Yellow Springs.

Franklin Monroe punched its ticket into the sectional final with a 73-36 destruction of Yellow Springs on Thursday at Brookville High School.

The number 2 seed Lady Jets will take on the number 6 seed Covington Buccaneers on Saturday at 2:00pm.

Franklin Monroe took control from the outset as Yellow Springs couldn't contain the Jet's high-powered offensive attack or penetrate the pressure defense applied by the kids from Pitsburg. The result was a 20-7 advantage after one quarter and a 40-17 score at the half.

The Jets continued their dominance in the third quarter, outscoring Yellow Springs 20-8 in the frame to take a commanding 60-25 lead.

From there it was a chance for Coach Gray to clear his bench as Franklin Monroe cruised to a 73-36 win.

Sierra Bruner and Tiffany Kossler came up big for Franklin Monroe as the two seniors combined to score 31 points. Bruner had 17 points, while Kossler tallied 14 points and 17 rebounds.

Brandy Fourman contributed with 14 points and Ashley Pfahl scored 13 points as four Franklin Monroe players scored in double figures.

As impressive as Franklin Monroe was offensively, it was the defensive pressure that set the tone throughout the contest. The Jets forced 24 turnovers on the night.
