TIGERS 9-0 - THE STAGE IS SET

ON THE MONEY...is what the Ansonia Tigers have been this year by winning all nine games.

Week nine was a dangerous week for the Ansonia Tigers. Coming off a big win over Covington last week and staring a showdown with Miami East (8-1) next week for the CCC Championship, the fear of a mental letdown is always in the back of the minds of Tiger fans when their team is playing an opponent it should beat.

Fortunately those fears were eased as Ansonia thoroughly dominated Tri-County North for a 55-7 victory. The win improves the Tigers to 9-0 on the season (8-0 in the CCC) and preserves the much anticipated showdown with Miami East, the defending conference champions.

The Tigers waisted little time jumping all over the Panthers with a pair of first quarter touchdowns by Jordan Gilbert and Reese Walters.

The offensive onslaught continued in the second quarter with four more Tiger scores to break the game open 40-0 at the half. Derek Bubeck scored on a five-yard run, while Dusty Holcomb dove in from two yards out and Dlyan Bubeck reached pay dirt twice - one from 18 yards away and another a 9-yard run.

Meanwhile, the Tiger "D" continued its dominating ways by shutting down the Panther's offense throughout the contest. The lone score by Tri-County North came late in the third quarter when the Ansonia starters were on the sideline thinking about next week.

Prior to that, Jordan Liette put on a display of speed on a 66-yard punt return for the score and Reese Walters scored on a 5-yard run.

It at leads to a chance at a perfect (10-0) regular season for the Tigers, as well as a CCC Title and possible top seed in Region 24.

And they'll be no chance of a mental letdown against the Vikings. With all that's at stake, both teams will put their best foot forward.
