BRADFORD...EMMANUEL HILL
CCC Track...
Game of the Week...
Athlete of the Week...
Through the Lens...
Bradford senior leader Emmanuel Hill has seen all of the highs and all of the lows over his four years of high school athletics. He was there to score to score a touchdown and throw for another in the Railroaders' 14-7 win over long-time rival Covington a year ago. He's been there through Bradford's previous struggles on the gridiron and more recent struggles on the hard wood.

Through it all, Emmanuel Hill has earned a reputation as a kid who plays with heart and gives maximum effort, regardless of the sport, the opponent or whether in victory or defeat.

It's only fitting that Hill had a hand in Bradford's first victory on their new floor, a 67-53 overtime over Troy Christian. The senior led the way with a game-high 18 points.

"The leadership Emmanuel brings is phenomenal," said Bradford coach Mike Esposito. "He gives 100% all of the time and it sets the tone for the rest of the team."

To understand the type of player Hill is, one can look at the Railroaders' rivalry contest with Covington on Friday night. Late in the game with Covington holding a significant lead, the Buccs stole the ball at the top of the key and appeared destined for an easy lay-up on the other end. Hill, who was situated on the baseline when the ball was stolen, raced the length of the floor and nearly blocked the shot at the other end.

"That's Emmanuel," said Esposito. "He gives his all 100% of the time."

For his leadership, hustle, determination and quality performance Emmanuel Hill is our "Athlete of the Week".
