CCC Track... Game of the Week... Athlete of the Week... Through the Lens...

After finishing third at the 2004 State Meet in the 400 meter run, Shoemaker made a return trip as a senior. Expected to challenge for the state title, Shoemaker breezed through the preliminaries by winning her heat with a time of 58.36. That time was the second fastest to Stephanie Tinney of Collins West who recorded a time of 57.93.

Shoemaker then captured second in the finals with a time of 56.83, just .65 of a second behind the state champion, April Rotilio of Bellaire St. John Central.

Not only did the senior perform well in her individual race, but Shoemaker also anchored the Lady Jets' 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams. The 4x400 team consisting of Dana Halderman, Elaina Kakatolis, Courtney Oswalt, and Shoemaker captured seventh with a time of 4:08.28. The 4x200 team consisting of the same girls finished eighth with a time of 1:54.40. The 4x100 team failed to qualify for the finals, but ran a very respectable time of 52.08 in the preliminaries.
