The Anna Rockets made a statement that they will not surrender the Cross County Conference throne without a fight with a 35-0 shutout win over Bethel. The win came on Bethel's home field, which made the victory even that much more impressive.
One of the primary reasons for Anna's success was the play of Cory Sniffen.
Sniffen ran for 134 yards on just 12 carries with 2 touchdowns, one coming on a 51-yard run in the third quarter to break open a 9-0 game.
Sniffen's other score came from 12 yards out to push the Rocket lead to 23-0 midway through the third.
Sniffen set up the first Anna score after the Rockets held Bethel on its opening possession. Sniffen broke loose around left end and scooted 31 yards deep into Bethel territory. Three plays later the Rockets scored on a 2-yard run by Joel Naseman.
All around it was a solid team effort for the Rockets as they forced seven Bethel turnovers, including five fumbles, but the play of Cory Sniffen has earned him our selection as the "Player of the Week".
